I have had several battles with cancer since 1992. My first was with thyroid. I had one side removed in late 91 and it was cancer, did all I had to do to beat it. then in 95 I had almost 4th stages of colon cancer. that time I almost died because I was so young and no one would listen to me until the pain was so bad, they checked me. Took me 3 yrs to get a doctor to hear me. So by the time they found it, it was in my lympnodes. But I did beat it.

In 97 the breast started. It wasn't stage 4 but it was stage 2. I didn't lose my breast though, I feel very fortunate that we have mammograms. then in 2000 it started again with the breast. Had my 40 yr mamo, showed a place, did biopsy and it was a nodule. So I went back in 6 months and had a follow up done on the same breast, and it showed 2 more places. Up against the breast bone. They got a biopsy of one but couldn't the other, so they scheduled me for surgery in Jan of 2001. Removed 2 masses and called it a good day. It was so small that it hadn't spread anywhere. So there I was lucky again. I thank god for all he has given me, even though it continues to happen.
