My Mom was diagnosed with
breast cancer a little over two years ago. She had a mastectomy, from which
the incision became infected; chemotherapy, which made it hard for her
to heal, and then radiation. It's been about a year since her final radiation
treatment, and she had a tumor marker which reported elevated levels. Her
doctor then made her take a cat scan, bone scan and several x-rays, which
showed cancer in her lumbar spine and pelvis. They've diagnosed her with
breast cancer stage IV.
When they told her, they didn't do it in a loving way... they let her
know that there wasn't much that could be done at this point, aside from
testing different drugs on her, and "finally" chemotherapy to ease any
pain. She's 66 now, has had a hard life but STILL keeps her head up and
looks for the good in anything that happens. She's afraid and I know
it. She raised myself and my brother on her own, with no type of support
whatsoever. I couldn't just say "ok, this is it . . . we just wait now" I
HAD to have hope and search to find ANYTHING possible on the internet.
We found an alternative medicine doctor. She's wonderful and changed
my Mom's diet completely. There are a LOT of things that oncologists
don't seem to tell people. Diet is definitely a factor for all of us,
let alone people who have or have had cancer in any form. Anyway . .
. I found a website about a vitamin (B17), laetril. It was something
that was actually "curing" cancer. I had to put that in parenthesis...
because apparently the government doesn't believe that it helps and has
actually tried to ban it from our country. It's very sad, because it's
made from seeds... mostly apples and apricots.
Anyway, I called a few health food stores to see how much the vitamin
cost and if they had it in stock. Most people didn't even know what I
was talking about, finally I found a guy at one of the health stores
that said "Oh, laetril? it's illegal in the states." I said, "Why would
it be illegal?" To which he replied, "It cures cancer. The doctor that
made it won the Nobel Peace Prize and was later harrassed and even put
in jail for treating people with cancer." I asked where I could get it,
and he said, "It's still legal in Mexico" and hung up on me.
I was so excited, I started searching as many websites as I could on
this vitamin. I finally found a Hospital in Mexico called, Oasis of Hope.
They didn't act as though my Mom was "just going to die and there was
nothing left to do"... they acted as though there WAS A WAY! I needed
to share that with you all. As soon as I can get enough money together
to send her, that's where she's going. I hope that maybe some of you
will check out the hospital or at least the vitamin. God Bless You all!
