When I was 13yrs old, I had a Bump on my right knee that did not go away. It was bone cancer. I had my right leg amputated and then had 2yrs of chemo (adrimycin/methotrexate). This changed my life greatly. I became an RN instead of a gym teacher.

Now, it is 24yrs later and I am facing stage 4 breast cancer. I had what I thought was a gallbladder attack in Aug 2000 but it wasn't my gallbladder. After an ultrasound they said I had something on my liver but they did not know what it was. Then I had lots of different tests and scans. A liver biopsy said that it could be liver cancer or some rare thing called a neuroendocrine carciniod.

Then there was the liver specialist. In Oct 2000, I had a liver resection to remove 3-4 tumor like things from my liver. They said that it wasn't cancer but cancer-like, no chemo needed. WheW!!

Then I had my first mammogram in Feb 2001--then I had a lumpectomy with a needle biopsy in March 2001. Some how they had missed it when doing my liver surgery. I had Breast Cancer stage 4. This has been my worst nightmare, I don't have time to be sick! I'm 37yrs old and have two kids (11yr old girl; 7yr old boy). I getting taxotere treatments and tamoxifen. I can no longer feel the lump under my arm and my liver ct scan said that the new spot on my liver is no bigger.

We remain hopeful and try to make the most of the time we have.
Enjoy each and every day to the fullest!!!!

May God bless us all,
Kathy
