I am 39 and a stage 4. It is late, and I am going to bed, but wanted to write a quick note, and will then add this to my favorites. I am quite suprised to see Stage 4...Survivor on the same page. I am scared to death and I will read more tomorrow on this. In Nov 1997 I was dx with a 1.7 cm tumor, grade 3, with micro lymphatic invasion. All 17 nodes were negative. Had mastectomt, 6 mos of CMF, and later TRAM reconstruction. In July of 2001 I was diag with a recurrence in my lung lining. Had 6 mos of A/C. I dont know if it is the fear of it coming back, as Dr says that that is definate, just a matter of when and have been told that no one survives a Stage 4 breast cancer.......needless to say, I am just waiting, and am back out of work becuase of my constant fear and crying. Dr says it could be 6 months of remission, or 20 years (which I think is far fetched), any help out there...???? will read tomorrow, thank you for your input.
