Because the medical community has not embraced naturopathy and alternative therapies, statistics on the efficacy of particular treatments are often hard to come by and leave room for fraud and doubt. It is our wish that traditional/western medicine would be more open to complementary therapies and that these would be researched, studied and covered by insurance!

3. TIMING
OF BREAST CANCER SURGERY AND THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE
Based on a number of medical studies,
days 18-20 of the menstrual cycle appears to be the BEST/ideal time
for surgery;
days 13-17 and 21-25 also appear to be a good times,
days 26 and later appear mediocre (though the data are less clear),
days 1-2 and 7-12 appear to be poor times and
days 3-6 appears to be the WORST time.
4. WEARING BRAS AND BREAST CANCER PREVENTION
"A new study shows that...Women who wear a bra 24 hours a day are
125 times as likely to develop cancer as women who don't wear one
at all...In a study involving 4,700 women, those who never wore
a
bra had the same incidence of breast cancer as men--a rare
condition. Women who wore bras for more than 12 hours but did not
sleep in them had 21 times the risk as women who wore bras for
less
than 12 hours. It is postulated that lymphatic vessels are blocked
by the
bra, keeping lymphocytes (white blood cells) from their role in
destroying abnormal cells....the correlation is...4 to 12 times
as
great as the connection between smoking and lung cancer." ("Burn
Your Bra After All?" _Townsend Letter_ cited in _Alt. Medicine_
magazine, Jul. 2000, p. 15)
